More Retirees Crossing State Lines – Where Are They Going?
According to the online moving-services marketplace Hire A Helper’s latest annual report, Florida is the number one destination for retirees, claiming 11% of movers across state lines. South Carolina comes in at a close second and New Jersey third, with Texas and Washington rounding out the top five. Let’s explore what’s drawing retirees to these destinations.

New Raymond James Mobile App
The old version of Client Access mobile app will no longer be supported as of May 30, 2024. Clients who aren’t using the version released in March 2023 will be prompted to upgrade to the latest version.
Updating is easy; you will see a pop-up notification prompting you to upgrade when you attempt to open the Client Access app. After upgrading in the app store (for iPhones) or Google Play Store (for Androids), you can continue using the app with the same login information.
The latest version of the app required iOS 15 or Android 9, so you may need to complete a software update before upgrading. Per Apple and Google policy, iOS 15 and Android 9 don’t support certain older devices. If your device isn’t supported, you won’t be able to use the Client Access mobile app with your current device. However, you can still use the desktop version of Client Access and continue using the same features.
The enhanced Client Access mobile app offers several new and improved features, including:
- Improved, more intuitive user interface
- Customizable dashboard
- Streamlined access to your key financial information
- Specifically optimized for mobile devices
Fun Fact
According to the Department of Homeland Security, airline passengers leave behind thousands of dollars in coins each year at U.S. airport screening checkpoints. In the most recent year studied, the Transportation Security Administration collected $517,978.74 in unclaimed money (mostly coins) from passengers who emptied their pockets while going through the security line. These funds get deposited into a special fund so that collection and spending can be easily tracked. After a period of time, this money is used for civilian airport security expenses.
