Raymond James and Cyber Security
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to increased awareness of potential cyberattacks, particularly within Ukraine and other Eastern European countries. We understand you may have concerns about whether these events affect the security of your financial accounts – but rest assured that our cybersecurity professionals have been monitoring and preparing to defend against threats like these for years.
At this time, Raymond James hasn’t experienced any increase in cyberattack activity. Our Cyber Threat center will continue to actively monitor the conflict
and take all necessary steps to protect our networks and your personal information, including reviewing cyber intelligence provided by U.S. federal agency partners. We make considerable investments in our multilayered defense systems and personnel to stay ahead of threats:
- We employ the most up-to-date safeguards to protect client account information and other important personal information. We employ encryption, virtual private networks, penetration/vulnerability testing and the latest firewall and antivirus technology to keep information safe.
- Our systems are monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- The firm’s information technology professionals partner with multiple government and information organizations to stay ahead of emerging risks, including the FBI and Department of Homeland Security.
- We continue to review known vulnerabilities associated with this conflict and update security controls to detect the latest threats.

As a reminder, here are a few tips for strengthening your own personal security measures:
- Use long, complex passwords for all your accounts, especially those that include sensitive information.
- Set up multifactor authentication whenever available for an additional layer of protection.
- Do not provide important information over email, phone or text to anyone unfamiliar. Don’t click on links in suspicious emails – cybercriminals often create scams with headline topics like Ukrainian relief efforts.

Don Hershberger, Founder and President, PWM, was named on the 2022 Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor list.
Investment advisory services are offered through Raymond James Financial Services Advisors, Inc. Paramount Wealth Management is not a registered broker/dealer and is independent of Raymond James Financial Services.
The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 34,925 nominations, more than 6,550 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor's future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients' experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Raymond James is not affiliated with Forbes or Shook Research, LLC.
